TRUTH OCEAN SPRINTER 856 Cast: 30g ~ 120g (max 150g) Line PE #:6
It achieves a balance between "lightness" in casting and handling and "tenacity" once a fish is hooked.
It is exceptionally easy to use for casting for yellowtail amberjack using PE 5/6 line and for casting for yellowfin tuna up to 40 kg. It is
the sharpest model in the series and is the model that the development staff uses most often for casting games targeting yellowtail amberjack and yellowfin tuna.
The common development concept for the OceanSprinter series is prioritizing ease of landing fish and the rod's inherent lifting power above all else.
Encounters with large fish can happen suddenly. They make
powerful runs that are difficult to stop even under heavy load.
To catch such large fish, we believe that "tenacity" and a "smooth bend curve" are necessary. This is especially true in rough seas and shallow areas with strong currents. The rod is designed to create a smooth bend curve as the load increases, preventing sudden changes in tension on the fish. This also reduces fluctuations in load for the angler, allowing for consistent pressure on the fish throughout the fight. Furthermore, achieving these features results in excellent casting performance, significantly reducing physical strain when using lures ranging from small to large.
Recommended reel: STELLA 14000XG / SALTIGA5500
Recommended line: PE5-6 (Appropriate drag load ~11 kg)
Recommended lure weight: 30g-130g (You can cast lures up to 100g with ease. For lures close to 130g,
casting by letting the rod load the lure will make casting easier and more comfortable.)
Tested for yellowtail casting in the Goto Islands of Nagasaki and northern Kyushu, and for luring yellowfin tuna off the coast of Mie Prefecture.
This model can handle everything from sardine patterns to mahi-mahi patterns with just one rod.
Compared to the 838/8110 models, it puts less strain on the body, and while it has "tenacity," it has a "sharper" feel, so you can cast more easily even for long periods or against the wind. (~100g)
This model is also very useful for luring yellowfin tuna up to 40 kg.
*Regarding Fighting Position
We do not recommend using a gimbal belt in a low position.
This model does not require a gimbal belt when fighting a fish in a short time, such as 10 minutes, using PE line #6. (Please use it when fighting a fish that requires a long fight, such as a tuna weighing over 40 kg.)
During the fight, instead of holding the rod too upright, maintaining an angle that applies load to the butt section will allow you to unleash the blank's lifting power.
Lowering the rod will increase the strain on your body, but it will also increase the pressure on the fish. There are various factors to consider, such as the fight duration and the size of the fish, so please adjust accordingly.
(There is a possibility of the fish getting away when securing the rod end to the gimbal belt. Also, securing the rod end may slow down your ability to react to sudden movements of the fish.)
